Kids Summer Workshop Schedule - 2010

Ever wonder how Great Aunt Bessie hooked that neat rug that lay beside the guest room bed, or hung proudly on the parlor wall? When you are browsing through the craft shops do you ever say, "I bet I could do that"? Do you find yourself running your fingers over a piece of embroidery artwork, admiring the workmanship, and wondering just how it was created?

Well you can learn all of this and more if you come to Molly Made Fibre Art Studio. Take part in one of the following workshops: Rug Hooking, Embroidery, Knitting, Fabric Painting, or Soap Felting.

 


WORKSHOPS: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

July 7 - Embroidery: Learn beginner embroidery stitches to make a coaster set

July 14 - Rug Hooking: Spend the afternoon hooking to make a pin cushion

July 21 - Felting: felt wool fibres together to make a coin purse and cover soap

July 28 - Knitting: finger knit to create a bouquet of flowers

August 4 - Crocheting: Learn beginner crochet stitch to make a necklace and scrunchy for you hair

August 11 - Weaving: using basic weaving techniques to make a bracelet and a bookmark.

August 25 - Rug Hooking: Make a house shape hanger and hook your hand print into a rug to create a wall hanging

 

Workshops:

EMBROIDERY - Level: Beginner

Impress your grandmother and your friends with you hip handiwork. In this workshop you will learn how to stitch basic embroidery stitches onto a piece of 14 count Aida cloth. With the knowledge of these stitches you will be able to create you own designs.
